What to do after a Hurricane

Tropical Storm/Hurricane Claims Information:
If you have damage:
- Using the Claim Numbers shown below report your loss directly to the insurance company as soon as possible.
- We dislike asking our customers to do this, but it does get your claim into their queue much faster which is extremely important when there are tens or even hundreds of thousands of claims. We should be notified by the insurance company almost immediately and will call you if we see anything unusual. As your claim progresses, please call us for help if there are any problems. Our experience is that most insurance companies are at their best when handling a catastrophe. However, because of the large number of claims, please be aware that all insurance companies will necessarily triage their claims.
- Get to the front of the line by immediately lining up someone to make repairs. DO NOT make any permanent repairs until you receive the green light from your insurance adjuster.
- Take good pictures and protect your property from further damage.
- If you have a separate NC Beach Plan wind policy (NCJUA), report your claim to your primary Homeowners insurance company (such as Kemper, Hartford, Travelers) and they will handle your claim.
- If you have a NC Beach Plan full Homeowners policy (as opposed to wind only), report your claim directly to The NC Beach Plan.
- If you have a separate wind policy through Frontline Insurance Co., report directly to Frontline.
- If you have a flood policy and think you have flood damage, report that directly to National Flood Services in addition to reporting any wind damage.
